Last Dance

It's our fault, we missed the chance,
that we never got to dance.
It's a wish that will never get fulfilled,
God took you to Heaven. it was His will.
Your life on earth was cut too short
you had health issues of sorts.
I wanted to dance with you
across the ballroom floor,
but that wish will be no more.
I dreamed of being held close to you
as we danced the whole night through.
You were a man of men.
you were a lady's man.
You were my friend.
Your last words to me were so kind,
you didn't want to leave me behind.
I'll save you a seat in Heaven
by my side.
I'll wait for you. just as I did in my life.
I'll watch for you from Heaven above.
you'll never be alone.
If you have a need.
just talk to me.
waiting. I'll be home.
