Last Night’s Dream

I had a dream; I had a dream last night.
I had a dream that I was strolling past the UBC Rucker Park.
Friends coined the name, but it wasn't the same.
It looked nothing like it did; it looked nothing like its brother.
It was once a strong sight.
Here a dying flame.
The nets were war torn,
Just a thread held on,
The fence was torn down,
And the court spread out.
It was a double wide now like on trailer park grounds.
Still, a few dudes were shooting with a ball that they found.
They had not quite enough for two on two.
They asked me join.
I said I had the wrong shoes.
Then some fine ladies showed up on the scene.
I quickly changed my mind and said let's shoot for teams.
But who were these girls?
Would I get to see?
My mind burdened with curiosity.
One girl was my ex-girlfriend;
Here she seemed cuter.
I tapped her on the shoulder,
And her eyes grew wide.
She said,
I had a dream; I had a dream last night.
