Late Night Thoughts

As time goes on, my mind wonders
I want to rewind , but I have to push forward
Praying tonight for a new horizon
I'm inviting the new and replacing the old
I want to help, but I can't
Bank accounts are blank
Families disintegrating
There's no hope for our generation
Every day, a new face on the news
The only story to tell is the blues
School books go to no use
Children dying
Parents' mental abuse
One less Easter basket
Another child in a casket
If we could just go back
Rotate, tick tock
The time on the clock
Old people struggling
Young people hustling
We're planning for the future
With no hope for today
It's a dark path to success
So I guess I'll grab my flashlight
Well, I got a lot on my mind-so,
