Layers

One by one I stripped my layers
Little by little I reveled myself to you.
I showed you my broken soul,
You encased my shattered heart.
You saw sides of me no one else has.
You said you loved me,
You said I was safe.
Then you left,
And I was alone.
As the icy air ripped past my exposed body,
I realized I would have to do this all over again.
I would have to open myself up and reveal my layers all over,
Just so I can get heartbroken once more.
