Legacy Left Behind
Leave your footprint behind my son,
lean heavy with each step.
Lend your light to the blind my son,
so too, they might feel it's depth.
Though your shadow falls behind you,
do not lose it into the fray.
That fight you have inside you,
may it guide you as to never stray.
You are not alone it's true,
nor shall you ever be.
The legacy left bestowed on you,
will live in you for all eternity.

My father left this world all too soon. What he left behind is instilled in me and I aim to carry that legacy and create my own along the way.
