Less Is More

Rowing our boats solo down the river of life,
we met after fifty then became "Man and Wife".
Our grown children with children blended quite well,
they all agreed that we should down-size and sell.
We signed with the realtor and the deal was done,
to sell both our homes and make it just one.
We cleaned out the closets, tossed out the old,
donated the clothing and the rest we sold.
We got new jobs, relocated and moved out of state,
found a small place to live happily with my mate.
Not everything of value can be bought in a store,
for love that is shared is worth so much more.
There's no greater joy than in having less,
especially when it comes to cleaning the mess!
