Let Us Not Forget 2020

By

The world will never be the same
Since COVID-19 came to be
The earth is resting and healing itself
Rivers are turning clean and drinkable
The air is breathable
Mountains can be seen from a distance
The world is in lockdown, each country to its own
People are working from home, schools are closed
I look out my window to see joggers and dog walkers
But very few cars driving down the street
We wave and talk from a distance
I miss hugs and physical touch
I miss my dog clients who help heal me
And my yearly vacation has now been cancelled
As time goes by I feel more disconnected
Social media is now the new norm
Stories of people showing compassion and kindness
Everywhere in the world
Sharing food and supplies with the elderly
Humanity at it’s finest the world as one
