Letting Go

'Maybe one day I'll find a choice.
Throw this old life away,
And get a new voice.
Though some things I can't let go.

Memories come and pass.
Bad ones, they linger.
Flashes from past pain.
Why can't I let go?

Whispers in the dark,
And a tear stained face.
I don't want to be here.
I want to let go.

Careless words are thrown around,
So why should I speak?
No one notices my silent screams,
So I am letting go.'
