Life

We're born not knowing anything,
and as we live, we learn.
We're taught things don't come easy,
and what we want, we earn.
But lessons that we're taught in school,
like share, say please, be nice,
and all about the golden rule,
alone will not suffice.

We can't foretell the future,
though many wish they could.
We also cannot change the past,
if so, then many would.

Try not to act in anger,
or vent, while you're upset.
Things we say or do today,
we later may regret.

Thinking back throughout the years,
it makes me kind of sad
my life did not turn out the way
I really wish it had.
