Life

Why do you we have the audacity to believe that we make a difference
There are billions of us on this planet and nearly everyone of us at one point in our life will tell you
“Life’s a not easy,”
Hairless apes, on a sphere hurtling through space, over millions of miles per hour
Fighting each other to the death because apparently there is nothing better to do
I look into the reflective surface mounted on oak and scream
The ocean is deep and dark and blue
Just like her eyes when she’s deep into a novel
Curly thick hair on pale freckled skin
There is an entire world around her but she doesn’t care
Life as we know it is a tornado of confusion
Your choice it to either run from it or run into with arms wide open
