Life: a Facade

Whimpering, crying, screaming-hurt
Quiet, still, abashed-silent
The bruises can't be seen through my undershirt.

Makeup, smiles, money-divert
My mouth is shut in fear-violent
Whimpering, crying, screaming-hurt

I toss and turn-alert
My anger boils inside-quiet
The bruises can't be seen through my undershirt.

I want to tell my story-blurt
I'm sick of spewing blood-diet
Whimpering, crying, screaming-hurt

I'm angry at the world-curt
I want to end it all-tie it.
The bruises can't be seen through my undershirt.

My world flipped upside down-invert
Should I protest for myself?-riot
Whimpering, crying, screaming-hurt
The bruises can't be seen through my undershirt.
