Life and Then…

When the curtain closes and the stage fades into black
Your skin becomes like arctic ice
Your cheeks begin to sag

Your lips form a shallow bruise
Blood pools in both your legs
Your body becomes as stiff as wood
And then your chest caves in

Your skin shrivels
Your eyes bulge out
Your tongue is a balloon

Your organs turn a putrid green
And pus spews out like sour cream

The worms and maggots crawl in and out
They shred your brain like sauerkraut
They slither in your sockets
And dangle from your mouth
They inch into your stomach
Burst out from your sides

Your skin begins to blister
Releasing a sulfur steam
And all at once your body bursts apart at the seams
