Life Is Not a Friend

It hit like a train wreck
Its when all my emotions inside me started to go
The pressure I was facing
The time that was ticking
Was there more to it than what I was experiencing?

Everything got to me
One step at a time
The pressure of when my test score defined my intelligence
The pressure to keep others happy
And simply just the pressure to keep my feet on the ground

And what you learn is no one holds your hand
and says you're going to make it and it makes a difference.
For its your own determination
and how much is put on you that decides that.

And its just one word.
One word that scrapes at us from beginning to end
One word you just have to make it through
