Life Is Your Crystal Platter

When the sky seems to be falling down, shattering glass all around
and you know you're ready to give up,
let me tell you my dear,
life for me hasn't been served on a crystal platter.

When everything is going down the drain,
and the only option you believe to have is death,
let me tell you my dear,
life isn't and won't be served on a crystal platter.

When everyone around you is caving in to the demons inside,
and you're the only one holding strong,
let me tell you my dear,
life isn't served on a crystal platter.

When you come to see that life is like glass,
so fragile it can break with one snap,
you'll come to realize my dear,
that life isn't served on a crystal platter.

When the time has come, and life has taken everything from you,
and all your dreams have been smashed with a crash,
you'll finally understand my dear,
that life isn't served on a crystal platter.

Now my dear, I know that you've been through rough and wild,
and that life hasn't played you the easy card,
but let me tell you my sweet child,
life is your crystal platter if you make it so.
