Like Pulling Teeth

With these words

Even I can’t make sense of them

The cobwebs in this head

The sound coming from the freeway

From my hotel window

In insect speed

But I am here sitting by my hotel window

The air condition kicks on

I thought it was you at the door

In this sit-down restaurant

My waitress can’t afford her rent

There is a highway that leads to death and destruction

Here is the mental institution where they are a community of hope

Here is the pharmacy where people walk in and out

Like a New York City revolving door

Here is the playground

The children are hanging upside down

Filming you like pointing their fingers at you

It's like pulling your teeth out

Just like you felt in a dream

And your teeth are on your pillow when you wake up
