Lion’s Heart

Ready, set, go,
Let the game begin.
You may even think
That you will win.
When I let you believe,
For a day,
That you are the predator,
And I am the prey...

Your cat like claws
Have made their mark,
While I was snoozing
In the dark..
Like a cheshire cat,
You watched me run,
To stand vulnerable
In the sun

Wisdom is mine,
As you did not know,
That in the light,
The dark can't grow.
The gift of dreams
Has unveiled your heart.
What you desire,
I can't take part.

And as the magi
Stirs the pot,
I'll call upon
Spirits lot,
To turn the tables,
For you to see,
A lions heart,
Which grows in me.

I'll purr and greet
You with a toothy grin,
As you open the latch,
I'll let you in.
Ready for the finish,
The game comes to an end.
Welcome, sweetheart,
To my den....
