Listen to the Fire

The fire builds enormous momentum taking it wherever it may want,
Trying to live through the fire could bring back memories that haunt.
Don't think for a moment it would be wise to stay,
Listen to the fire as it makes its way.

Man will arrive and fight this giant beast,
Ground will be gained but not before the demon devours its feast.
The fire will push and pull as it causes people's dismay,
Listen to the fire as it makes its way.

Houses may burn in the fire's path,
They are helpless against its wrath.
Survival comes down to how the terrain may lay,
Listen to the fire as it makes its way.

Our mistakes will continue to be made,
What we must learn is the fires will never fade.
Perhaps it will be fully understood someday,
Listen to the fire as it makes its way.
