Little Girls

By IvyLea

The pretty little girls grow up shattered.
Porcelain faces cracked where sadness fell. Shattered young women try to disguise...
hide their brokenness and caulk the cracks. Create some smile.
These fragments are now a woman...
well seasoned in facade...
well versed in pleasantries...
Makeup almost covers those scars..
but underneath...
all too real.
Pretend is the show. Almost automatic anymore.
What of the pretty little girls?
All smiles, hopes, dreams, and love ?
So you've broken one open....
seen the content of her soul.
The ocean of emptiness... and depth.
Do you realize what you've done?
Why have you done what they did?

This Poems Story

All children come into this world so complete. Some just so this world can break them. And of those children our girls are sadly most at risk of being damaged.
