Little One

You will be missed little one
As on the day you were born my heart you won

I have gone to a faraway place called the Middle East
To assist in the fight against something known as a terrorizing beast

It is important you see
As I wish for you to live in a place that is safe and free

As I know God chose you himself from his soul room
And placed you gently in your mother's womb

You are the heir to this queen's throne
Remember you family is always your home

As Nanny ascends in her whirly bird
And watches the shepherd from overheard tend his camel herd

I will think yo like the endlessly like the blowing sand
But I am comforted to know you are on guarded American land

Here, Alyssa, is a hug and a kiss
As it is your small angelic face I will miss

I hope time passes quickly and we will get to see each other soon
I want to share with you a story of how the cow jumped over the moon

This Poems Story

When I deployed to the Middle East my granddaughter was six weeks old. I saw her everyday and took pictures; in case I was killed or kidnapped. I wanrted her to remember. She always was my first grandchild. I now have three grandchildren, Alyssa, Jackson and Colton. They are the loves of my heart and always will be. I would like to honor my son, Daniel. He died in the line of duty as a police office. I wish him much peace. Another love in my life my daughter, Constance and my husband Tim.
