London city

London city

Brothers and sisters I speak coherently to you
But my address of your person isn’t an answer,
But an question of what we should do
In this city of London our brothers and sisters are dying and our families are feeling it too
Or when you see death on the news have you become so used to it being overlooked you don’t believe it is anything new?
God looks down at his creation and wonders what we have done
When we were supposed to be a united nation,
But divided instead of standing as one.
We’ve involved ourselves in our own civil wars,
We’ve been fighting each other but what for ?
when the greatest powers are the ones that are against us the greatest powers are the ones who don’t want to see us proposer
How can they try and persecute us when they’ve done nothing to support us
Where we’ve not come from high ground so we never get the chance to see if that kind of life would suit us.
Where in predominantly black communities you’ll find more cheap chicken shops than businesses
Where the biggest buildings are at further distances and everyone’s trying to changes their images
But oppress people because of their differences.
In this world,
We must not be blind
To look behind us and chose not to fight because we are the ones with the right
We are the ones that can create a light
Lack of peace and lack of hope is what will destroy our community
Stood together in peace and hope is our greatest opportunity
This city has been dead for too long for people to be deciding if we can do this if we are strong
and the authorities stringing us along making us believe that they are doing what’s right when they’re barely investigating or putting in money into that murder that happened on the high street the other night
They’ve covered more on brexit then how we’re really gonna exit the problems in each of our communities.
In a country where they are big on rehabilitation but think that putting our young boys away again and again is going to make them do what’s right
Now theyve spent most of their life in a “rehabilitation” every night
Because when blood spills don’t just close your doors and tell your family to stay in for today
When our nieces and nephews have picked up knives and won’t make it to their 16th birthday
When our cousins are In ambulance beds or the hospitals or the anti depressant meds
We can all dream but this is not how this city of London is supposed to be
God please help me
Please help us
We cannot keep dying in imperfect love
But while your waiting for God,
God is waiting for you
To drown us once again in what will save us
Wrap us in his arm with never-ending love
In the city we must not give up
We must not try and be blind
We strive and burn to survive and let these high up people know that they do not have power over our lives
In our city
Our freedom is in our lives
