Loneliness

You've kept me comp'ny through my darkest days,
When all's been lost amidst the dwindling light,
When Hope's begun to fade into the night
With dreams of waking up to morning rays.
You've stood beside me through the stormy gale,
When all has been abandoned in debris,
When Pride's been tossed about the raging sea
And left to carry on with broken sail.
You've shared a strength in which I can confide,
A shoulder where I shed regretful tears,
A shelter from my overwhelming fears,
A solace even Love cannot provide.
Thus our eternal bond shall never wane,
For now I know together we'll remain.
