Loneliness

It feels like a boulder sitting on your chest
No matter how hard you try, you're never the best.
It looks like the dark corner in a room,
The place that seems to collect the most gloom.
It's a bitter taste that won't leave your tongue,
Festering inside you since you were young.
It smells like a cave; damp, dark, and musky.
It sounds like a voice; deep, scary, and husky.
Loneliness isn't just having no one else home,
But the deep feeling that you'll always be alone.
