Lonely Holiday

The loneliness of Christmas,
is not understood by all.
Many misinterpret it,
as a minor humbug call.

What many people do not know,
is that Christmas can be depressing.
Unless you've felt the loss inside,
you best not do any guessing.

For Christmas spirit comes from joy,
of family and friends.
But what joy can there be,
when you've seen a battle end?

It hurts to miss the person,
who you were close to as a child.
And now you'd give most anything,
to see that precious smile.

Yes, the loneliness of Christmas,
is a pain that you must hide.
For no one could understand,
the torment you feel inside.
