Longing

There was no way I could find you.
There was no compass, no map;
No atlas could lead me to you.

It was instead the sign of space,
The cosmos unwinding,
The chance of life that pushed me
Into you.

But when I found you,
I couldn't let you close enough,
I couldn't let you
There was no way I could
Draw you closer,
I just couldn't bear to draw you
Close, closer, to me.

I guess I hadn't found you.
Because when I found you,
You were already close.
Every moment was no moment,
every time was timeless,
every class was classic.
