Lonliness is Pain

He thought he wanted friends,
or for someone to care.
But these were lies.
Lies.
Lies.

Lies,
which the young man had told himself.
Lies,
that he uttered in order to keep himself sane.

He believed that if he had friends,
that all would be well.
But the truth was that he was alone.
Painfully alone.
Surrounded by love in which he could not have.

He too, wished to be loved,
from the bottom of his heart.
Yes, for this was his truest desire.

Yet, as covetous as he was,
no matter how much he pined,
in the end the man was destined
to live and die alone.
