Look at Me

Mama
Look at me I am a general fish out of water
Pushed to my limit struggling and gasping
For air like the way I do for your attention

I am a skeleton with nobody because I have
Nobody that will listen look at me I am a darkened
Rose I am an outcast of a shadow I am me I am
Mean I am a lot of things but one thing I am and
You know I am it I am your last seed to grow but I

Am your first to rise I am your blood I should be your
Pride and joy but instead I am your built-up wall
I am your okay I am your that's good I am your child
Give me your attention I feed off it to make
You proud to make you smile but instead

I am your lost time in a bottle filled with rocks
Sad lonely I am a broken sunflower with no sunshine
To uplift me

This Poems Story

My name is Bridget Henderson. I'm in high school. I was lost in my younger years, a little depressed, looking for a way to set myself free. I've always loved music, but I never loved reading, and in that time I was going through a lot secretly. No one knew about it. I had to find a way to release this emotional beast inside. I was inspired by life and how it's too short, and also by being left out by my mother. I felt as if she didn't love me. But over all, she did. I love my family and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.
