Look Up

Look up, Girl, look at me
Why don't you understand?
Look up, Girl, look at me
I'm holding out my hand

Look up, Boy, look at me
Why don't you go and play?
Look up, Boy, look at me
I'm here to stay

Look up, Mom, look at me
Why don't you feel alarmed?
Look up, Mom, look at me
I'm opening up my arms

Look up, Dad, look at me
Why don't you read your books?
Look up, Dad, look at me
I'm waiting in the reading nook

Look up, please
Please look at me
The screen won't light up your day forever
I'll be your light
Whenever

This Poems Story

I was inspired to write this poem because of this generation's excessive phone use. If we took a second to look up, we could appreciate the people that are there for us. The wifi won't always work, and the games can't always be played.
