Looking Back Now

I wish I could remember
But it seems so long ago that we've met
So long ago that it was too easy to forget

Give me a hint
Show me a sign
Don't leave me confused for another time

I'm trying to catch up
But we're growing up too fast
And only regret runs through my veins

You shined a darkness on my past
As if it never would matter for I was yours now
But there was a paleness to your practice
A peculiar method to your madness

I look at you
And all I see is the shimmering ghost of now
To live is to suffer
But life is the pursuit of happiness
And we're all running
