Looking Glass

Angry though you may be,
It's a brand new day!
Beam as though you are
Not a faraway star
Right here close you are to my heart.

Angry though you may be,
It's a brand new day!
Looking glass, don't look away.
You said you needed to belong to someone.
Well, here I am to stay.

Angry though you may be,
It's a brand new day!
You've lost your chance to push me away
You chased me down with such charm and finesse
Now I have said, "Lord, I will be for him,"
Though all that glitters may not be gold all the time
A little green dross behind the ears
A little seasoned yak that could bring tears.

Angry though you may be
May the jerk in you dis...si...pate
It's a brand new day!

This Poems Story

My philosophy about the poetry I write is this: It may not be as sweet as apple pie or chocolate cake. It may not be fallin' off the bones like ribs, or it may not be as enticing as a bowl of ice cream on a hot summer night, but it is yum-yum poetry, written by way of observation, conversation and inspiration.
