Losing Toby

I can't get you off my mind tonight,
the way you screamed when you were loaded into the trailer,
lifting your head, trying to see me.
You're like a haunting ghost,
hovering just out of reach.
But I try and try
and you keep on slipping
through my fingers
no matter how tightly I try to close them.
So your image keeps coming,
forcing tears in my eyes.
How are you?
What are you doing?
Do you miss me?
I'd know..
if you were here.
I begged you stay,
but you couldn't.
