Loss

Raindrops coming down,
streaming down my flustered face.
Is this really it?

So long my dear friend,
I thank you for everything.
Your body may fade,

your spirit may vanish,
but our memories remain.
Bound for all of time.

As we return back
to the Earth that birthed us all,
I bid you farewell.

I look forward to the day
when we reunite once more.
