Lost and Alone #3: Admitting the True

By Carla

You promised me
To come to me in my dreams.
Wrapped in warm burgundy
I am still cold in this chill blue room

In a hotel in France
I accidentally locked us out of the room
We laughed after we got back in
Falling in bed
Wondering where we could find our fortune.
Tomorrow we'll walk off to look for London.

It took one day to cross England
Shakespeare was an adventure
At the Globe
Marveling at milk on doorsteps
At ten in the morning.
Not in Dixie would we find that.
Brisk breezes made me hold your
Arm wrapped in a corduroy coat
Oh, how I love that smell ...

Frank, what should we do next?
Life is so young and beautiful
I want to see Stonehenge
And all the wonderful things not found
In our backyard on a little saltwater creek.

Liberty county is a world away from Shakespeare.

Do you still feel Newark in your blood?

That is where the end began
Though it would take over thirty years to realize it.
Damn, contaminated water, how dare they!
Oh God, this can't be happening...

Savannah is really home to your bloodline,
Gentleman of the true South.

Frank, how do I bring Savannah back to my life?
Where are you?
