Lost Control

Right before my somber eyes,
Crashing down, now on the ground it lies.
I had a firm grip, or so I thought.
Sovereignty of my furture is what I sought.
One second it was all in my hands
And the next, like a phantom, it vanished.
It diminished
Without warning,
the control I had in my life ceased to exist.
