Standing empty handed at the shadow of my heart,
Watching her walk away.
Lost in an ocean of wonderment,
Ghost of a memory.
Suppressed by nothing,
Stealing away a moment in time.
Coming to take my soul,
She was owned by no one.
And dances wildly in my dreams,
Loving no one but her own enigma.
My phantom well, deep and impenetrable,
Shattered in my own rear view mirror.
I wish I could take you to the depth of my being,
And write my nightmare away.
Where have you gone?
The woman who could have been.
Forever lost at sea with no end in sight.
