We travelled down this dusty trail
That seemed to never end
We forged our way through think and thin
Through every turn and every bend

We walked through life without a care
We never had to worry
We danced our way through our book
We proudly told our story

But just like everything
It somehow had to end
You just kept walking straight
And I explored that bend

We met back up down that road
Neither of us the same
You got everything you wanted
I just got the blame

So now I sit inside my head
My thoughts just shout and cry
I now am a shell of myself
Just trying to get by

They say all that shined
Eventually turns to rust
For like the road we travelled
We collected all the dust
