Love, I Have a Few Regrets

Love, I have regrets
Two weeks finally meeting you in our special place
Learning all about you, your eyes, your lips, your face
Two weeks of sweet lovin, sweet laughs, your sweet kiss,
Two weeks of discovery, of dreams, wonder and bliss
Now you speed cross the country, important to go,
Back to the aloneness both you and I know
Each minute takes you farther from me
Back to your other life and stark reality
I replay our meetings, each hour step by step,
And you need to know, Love I have a few regrets.
Holding you in my arms was not a chore, should have done it more.
Everything about you I needed to explore, should have done it more
You loving me, me loving you, neither keeping score,
Should have done it more.
The biggest regret I have, and cannot be restored,
Love, I wish we had met many many years before.
