Love In February

It might rain today.
She doesn't have an umbrella.
She is standing under a shed.
She doesn't appear to be Cinderella.

Her hair is a grapevine.
Her eyes are tender.
Her face is a drought.
Her body is utterly slender.

She does not have food.
Her hunger seems certain.
She is staring at the people.
People are staring at the urchin.

People were celebrating love.
People are celebrating love.
People will be celebrating love.
Alas! People have forgotten love.
