Love Is…

Love is a flower,
A rose, truth be told,
A rose soft and sweet,
A rose sharp and cold.

Love is a rose,
It shows bittersweet,
It grows through the cracks,
Sometimes we can't even see.

Love is a rose,
It thorns filled with hate,
It's petals filled with love,
With us reaching to touch.

Cut off the thorns to get the love,
But cut off the bud to hide the love,
Keep it a bleak, meek, hidden rose,
Keep it away, hide it away.

You pull up the flower to pull up the love,
But it grows once again,
Without us wanting,
Without us knowing,
Without us wishing,
Love is a flower,
A rose, a weed.

Love is a flower that we all need.
