Love is Pain

We all end up dead
In a bag, in a casket, in a grave
Leaving the world
Leaving everything we ever craved

Love brings war
Explosive and rough
It cuts deeply into my core
Authentic true love

Bombarded with imagery
Whom to love, what to do, who to be
I slam my head against the wall
I don’t want to hear, I don’t want to see

I am rushed to the edge
The wind howls and screams
Nature tells me to jump
I step forward and leap

My chest hammers the ground
As I collapse for the last time
The last breath slips out
Finally, a clear mind

We all end up dead
In a bag, in a casket, in a grave
Leaving the world
Leaving everything we ever craved

This Poems Story

This poem came out of a spiraling spell of depression when words were all I had. I would wake up every morning wishing I wasn't, and go to sleep every night crumbling inside. Trying hopelessly to pinpoint where I had gone wrong, I stumbled upon the topic of love and sexuality.
