Love Kills

The sweet smell of sugar cookies fill the room,
Lights burning brighter than the Sun.
Laughter from two who barely know the truth,
One dreams of the other but fear is her limit,
The other doesn't notice fear she holds.
She runs to him for comfort and protection,
He stabs her in the chest not knowing.
Crimson red silk falls from the wound,
A measly gasp is heard as she says "I love you",
Diamond tears fall from both sets of eyes,
He embraces her as if she is a newborn.
She touches his velvet face with shakey fingers,
A kiss so gentle is given on the forehead,
Sweet sounds of him whispering "I feel the same",
Child-like eyes and a bright smile from the girl,
His embrace tightens and a gentle kiss on the soft lips,
She falls to the floor from his arms,
There is no sound; no light; no life;
Their bodies join as one lifeless on the floor.
