Love Letter

My illusion of you has built more for me than your presence ever will
See, the way I remember things
The pleasure, the pain
I cried more than I smiled
I laughed to hold back the tears
When I looked at you, I fantasized over the man you once were
It all hurts so good now
My smile is brighter
My laugh? Oh god my laugh is full of so much life
My memory of you is vague
But the scars remained
The disappointment followed anytime I heard your name
All that was left were the memories that I recreated
The salvaged memories of our past that I molded into beauty in all its forms
The thought of you is good for my art
I guess you were good for my soul
