Love Sown

Love seeded early
In soft earth takes root,
Entwining with you freely
To support a greater shoot.
Love bursting through
The airy soil-
Small sprigs grew,
And the buds uncoil.
Love given light.
Small bud turns to leaf.
Though still green in sight,
Despite all its belief.
I see it after;
Love has grown from seed.
To me you were a flower-
To you, I was a weed.

This Poems Story

I grew up in a small southern town, the kind where you know everyone and everyone knows you. It's a wonderful environment where God, family, civilization, and nature come together to make for a peaceful childhood. As I grew up and went off to college, I saw a lot of my beliefs challenged and shattered. That's when I began to write, which is a challenge for an aspiring engineer! It started with me just writing my emotions down to rhyme, but I'm continuing to evolve my writing style as I learn more. I hope you enjoy my work!
