Lovers

Lovely Hearts intertwined
Locked in a battle of a lover’s kind.

Sleepless hours, conversations by phone
A factory for memories, built by a lover’s tone.

Cloud 9 precipitation, falling for he
Locked to each other, by the lover’s key.

Suspicions arising, throwing trust away
Left alone, waiting, through a lover’s delay.

Heartfelt wars, tear-stained sheet
Silver lining lies, pushed to the lover’s brink.

2 a.m. phone calls, misunderstandings afloat
Songs of tragedy played on a lover’s note.

Corrosive words, broken hearts upon the floor
Each shutout by the lover’s door.

Passing words, no feelings now
Heartbroken promises kept by a stranger’s vow.
