Love’s First Kiss

By Melmond

When I witness love's first kiss,
I tend to feel a little sad.
I am pressed to reminisce,
Of the kiss we never had.

I force choke back a tear,
Or compel my gaze away,
Or if no-one else is near,
I'll allow my tears' betray.

In dreams I recollect,
The chance we left undone,
And there, I architect,
How we two become as one.

I may always mourn the loss,
Of our kiss, that never was.
