Love’s Your Playground
To you, my heart is a child's playground.
You swing yourself from emotion to emotion,
Afraid of letting go,
Afraid of falling too hard.
But when you've finally mustered up
Enough courage to reach out
You feel yourself slipping and you swing back,
Adjusting your knuckle tight grip.
The mere thought of scraping
Your knees too terrifying.
All the while forgetting I'm on the ground below,
Just waiting to catch you.
