Lovesong

Lovesong

In the sweating and
Lump throated
Long and light evenings
We have collided.
Unwarned,
Perhaps against our will,
And like two moving vehicles
We now crush and warp one
Another’s edges and sides,
A whimpering smoke plume from the
Remnants.
There is heat,
A bonding and fusing of our different materials
In our stubborn new bind.
But admittedly
There is mainly a sense of loss.
Loss of self and loss of alliance,
As you colourfully and painfully
Open each day
the petals of myself.
