Loving You

Loving you seemed like a beautiful mistake
But I would have done anything to fall in love
And I would have done anything to make
Myself feel like I was enough.

Loving you was how I stayed true
To my human desire to be self-destructive,
So sticking around you
Made me feel productive.

Loving you made me believe
As if my body was braille,
And I had to live to achieve
A body that, for you, was beautiful and frail.

Loving you left me battered and bruised,
Each breath you inhaled felt like a coming storm,
But when I let you kiss all of my wounds,
It was suicide in the purest form.
