Low Power

A ringing here a dinging there
I just felt so obsessed,
A vibrate near, a buzzing far
no doubt I needed rest,
Not for a month not for a week
but just a one-day break,
So I set out for real world connections
I was done with all the Fake,
I was hesitant at first
watched it power down and moaned
But it turned out to be a great idea
when I put down my phone.

They say keep super glue away
from children and teens,
But what’s the point in that
when they’re already glued to screens,
I felt so deeply attached it was time i signed out
There’s so much more to life
than social media clout,
I learned to really talk to people
not their Internet projections
Sometimes you have to disconnect
get the best connections
