Magic carpet ride

Say, honey, what about us taking a drive,
somewhere near or far, just you and I on
this old magic carpet ride, we'll float there,
if you like, whether on a Sunday or not, whatever
your heart delights on this old magic carpet ride,
against the pouring rain, either day or by night, whether
sunny or bright, cold or hot, just so long as we're together
again, just you and I on this old magic carpet ride, in fond
memory of former times, when springtime came upon us,
in the midst of us just beginning a terrific romance, upon this one
unforgotten dance, that very first kiss, now but a thousand
seasons ago, yet, I still remember us, on that old magic
carpet ride to heaven.
