March Madness

Gazing out the window at the scant snow,
How I wish the warm winds would blow!

Garden catalogs wait on the table,
My spring time list to be made stable.

The garden itself lies at peaceful pause,
But my mind's eye sees a colorful cause.

Rows of bright gladiolas and cosmos bloom,
Gladly taking away spring's grey gloom.

Once my lavish list has been made and sent,
I am amazed at how much I have spent!

My mind's eye once again relieves my fear,
Think of summer blooms that will soon appear!
